Depending on the nature of your facial fracture, your recovery diet will vary. If you have undergone any form of intraoral approach to your facial fractures, you will need to be on a clear fluid diet for 48 hours, before commencing a totally blended diet for approximately 6 weeks. Please note you will not be able to chew food until you reach at least this 6 weeks post-op milestone.

If you have undergone surgery for higher level facial fractures where the dental occlusion is not disrupted, you will be able to commence a soft diet after 48 hours, and can gradually build this up over the next 10 days.
